Oral Communication Tips

  • Always use a proper salutation (Mr./Ms., Dr., Professor, etc.)
  • Use proper language (no slang)
  • Use body language that indicates interest (good eye contact, etc)
  • Do not use your cell phone at work
  • Act professional, even during virtual calls or conferences/meetings

  • Emails are NOT texts. Don't treat them as such.
  • Use salutations (Dr., Mr/Ms, Professor, etc.)
  • Use spell-check
  • Check your grammar
  • Include your name at the bottom
