Originally born as Ariana Grande-Butera, the singer and actress decided to officially make her stage name as Ariana Grande only. She was born in Boca Raton, Florida on June 26th, 1993 and is the daughter of Edward Butera and Joan Grande. She is also of Italian decent and while growing up she took part in acting and singing at local theaters. Grande has one older brother, Frankie, who also takes part in acting. Ariana attended North Broward Prepatory School for her acting and theatre.
She made her debut for acting in the play "13" on Broadway in 2008. Grande then landed a professionally acting career with Nickelodeon and starred on the hit show "Victorious". Ariana is currently on in another Nickelodeon show, "Sam and Cat". She has played the roles as Cat Valentine on both series, as the two shows transitioned into the other. In 2013, Ariana released her album "Yours Truly". She also has many hit singles including "The Way" feat. Mac Miller and her recent hit, "Problem" feat Iggy Azalea.
Ariana Grande writes most of her own music, then records and performs her songs. Should artists write their own music or have recording companies and management write the songs for them? Why?
