Libya supported the formation of OPEC and their military was partially responsible for raising oil prices.

At one point in time they needed more people to collect oil, so the government told the citizens to have bigger families.

The people in Libya were mostly young, so Libya had to import foreign workers.

The discovery of oil brought rapid urban migration and employment opportunities.

One way to combat high gas prices is through the use of ethanol, which is made from corn here in Iowa.
