Provide an overview and space for questions.

Check out your space

  • Try any tech tools beforehand
  • Always have plan B for tech things
  • Upload all pages you need as soon as you get there

If you use slides:

  • Include your objectives for the session
  • Use images
  • Provide links to resources
  • Don't cram with words

More on slides

  • Include all activities, video links, opening questions etc on the slides
  • Build in slides to recap
  • Upload to Canvas afterwards and include a narrative

On the day

Don’t feel that you need to rush into teaching

  • Take a deep breath
  • Take some time to get to know your students
  • Lay the path forward
  • Don’t jump straight in, do some get to know you type activities
  • Spark curiosity in your subject; tell stories
