DOMAIN-The set of all inputs for which a function or relation is defined.

RANGE-The set of all outputs of a function or relation.

INTERVAL NOTATION-A notation for representing an interval as a pair of numbers.

INDEPENDENT VARIABLES-a variable (often denoted by x ) whose variation does not depend on that of another.

DEPENDENT VARIABLES-a variable (often denoted by y ) whose value depends on that of another.

FUNCTIONS-A function is a rule which relates the values of one variable quantity to the values of another variable quantity

VERTICAL LINE TEST

INTERVALS OF INCREASING AND DECREASING-the domain of a function where its value is getting larger or smaller

LOCAL MAXIMUM-the value of a function at a certain point in its domain

ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM- the largest value

LOCAL MINIMUM- a local (or relative) maximum point at the point x

ABSOLUTE MINIMUM-the smallest value a given function assumes on a specified set
