Prader-Willi syndrome
is a disorder (present from birth) .It affects many parts of the body. People with this condition are obese, have reduced muscle tone and mental ability, and have sex glands that produce little or no hormones.

Mode of inheritance,autosomal dominant/recessive, sex linked recessive, holandric, and chromosomal abnormality

Most causes of Prader-Willi syndrome are not inherited, particularly those caused by a deletion in the paternal chromosome 15 or by maternal uni parental disomy.

Characteristics/Symptoms

(Infants)- poor muscle tone, distinct facial features, failure to thrive, lack of eye coordination, and generally poor responsiveness.

(Early Child to Adult hood)
-food craving /weight gain, undeveloped sex organs, poor growth and physical development , intellectual disability, speech problems, and etc....

Time of symptoms/characteristics

- The symptoms and characteristics of Prader-Willi syndrome usually start occurring during early child hood or very young as an infant.

Life Expectancy
- If body weight is controlled while you have this disorder, your life expectancy will be normal.

-it is usually diagnosed at birth, and you'll know if you have the disorder after observing physical characteristics like poor muscle tone and almond shaped eyes.

How to prevent it?
- this disorder can not be prevented, but you can try to get genetic testing or genetic counseling.
