WHAT WAS THE IMPACT

On the civil war

After the civil war, 3 amendments were added to the constitution. The 13th,14th, and 15th, the 14th was the most important one out of the 3.

13th: forbidding slavery.
14th:treat everyone equal, giving the old slaves equal rights, forbidding states to treat the old slaves badly, equal protection of the laws, and giving congress the power of the amendments.
15th:giving them the right to vote.
