PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Positive Behavior Management
Why I Choose to change my behavior management system.
How does focusing on positive behavior effect negative behavior in the classroom?
Behavior issues are a concerning factor in classrooms around the nation. A study conducted in an out of state district shows that 91% of teachers surveyed felt that disruptions in class were an issue (Butera, Giacone, & Wagner, 2008). Teachers and school districts understand the connection with time on task to academic knowledge gained.
It takes 7 positive comments to wipe the effects of 1 negative comment.
Research shows that negative feedback does not promote positive outcomes.
Positive feedback lowers classroom disruptions and helps the focus remain on instruction.
