CATTAILS

  • Cattails are aquatic plants common in creeks, ditches, and ponds
  • They are wet land plants with a unique flowering spike
  • They grow 3 to 10 feet long
  • They are one of the most common plants in large marshes
  • The two most common species in the U.S are the broad leaf cattail, and the narrow leaf cattail

LARGE MOUTH BASS

  • The large mouth bass is one of the most enjoyable fish to angle
  • They can grow to be 1to 11/12 lbs per season
  • It is a fresh water gamefish in the sunfish family
  • It is known by many names, such as the brown bass, wide mouth bass, black bass, as well as many other names
  • Did you know a female bass is larger than a male bass

Nymphaeaceae

  • The nymphaeaceae is a family of flowering plants
  • Members of this family are commonly called water lilies and live as rhizomatous aquatic herbs in temperate
  • They live in tropical climates around the world
  • The family contains eight large - flowered genre with about 70 species
  • Did you know that water lilies are rooted in soil in bodies of water, with leaves and flowers floating on the surface

REDEAR

  • The redear is a sunfish with a relatively small mouth
  • There distinctive colors range from olive green on top and almost white near its belly
  • In most cases they are caught by using earthworms, grub, or lures
  • They eat snails, insect larvae, and will be found in areas were aquatic vegetation exist
  • Redear are stocked not only as sport fish but also as a solution to worm l

NUPHARE

  • Nuphare is a genus of aquatic plants in the nymphaeaceae
  • The nuphare differs in having its petals being much smaller than its 4 - 6 bright yellow- colored sepals
  • Common names include water- lily and spatterdock
  • Did you know a total of eight species and 3 hybrids are currently accepted in the genus

CHANNEL CATFISH

  • The channel catfish are one of the most easiest fish to manage in your pond
  • Supplemental feeding will often allow the catfish to achieve growth rates sometimes exceeding 1 1/2 lbs per seasons
  • These fish can be stocked independently or as part of a combination stocking with large mouth bass, hybrid bluegill, and black crappie
  • When stocked properly the channel catfish will not have any negative effects on reproduce or growth rates of the other fish in your pond

COLORATA

  • The Colorata lily is a compact, day blooming tropical lily
  • It is a very fragrant flower that has circular shaped leaves with purple under sides
  • It grows to be 6 - 18 inches long
  • They can grow in tubs and kettles also it is terrific for garden planter beginners

KOI FISH

  • The Koi is almost indescribable with its brilliant colors and unique patterns
  • These fish enjoy nothing more than coming up and taking a cracker or a piece of bread out of a child's hand!!!
  • They can often be found waiting near the shore line for their owner to arrive
  • In a pond or a lake the koi will eclipse the 12 inch mark in less than 24 months old
  • There growth rate and maximum size will be by the time they are 24 months old

VICTORIA AMAZONICA

  • The Victoria amazonica has very large leaves
  • It grows to be 7-8 m long!!!!!
  • The flowers are white the first night and become pink the second night
  • Did you know that the Victoria amazonica is the largest lily in the world!!!!!!

WHITE CRAPPIE

  • There are two types of crappie the white crappie and the black crappie
  • You will find the average black crappie grows faster than the white crappie
  • When a black eats fat head minnows and hybrid bluegill they will at a rate 1/4 to 1/2 lbs per season
  • Did you know that the white and black crappie like to take over ponds and lakes!!!

TEMPERATURE

  • Did you know that in the summer the temperature can range from 4 degrees Celsius near the bottom to 20 degrees Celsius at the top
  • In the winter the temperature at the bottom can be 4 degrees Celsius while the top is 0 degrees Celsius ( ice cold)
