Facts About Pompeii

  • Pompeii was practicly blown of the map
  • The volcano that blew up Pompeii was Mt. Vesivius
  • Thousands of people died after the eruption
  • The eruption lasted 24 hours

Pliny the Younger wrote letters about the eruption,destruction,and everyone who survived with him.

  • Not many people survived and the people who did had nowhere to stay because everything was burned and destroyed

  • Scientists found some ancient artifacts but not much instead they found people's bodies which was covered with ash the volcanic ash preserved the people.
