Land Pollution Facts
Every year one American produces over 3,285 pounds of hazardous waste. Land pollution causes us to lose 24 billion tonnes of top soil every year (Tonnes - 2,205 pounds). On average, Americans throw out 200,000 tons of edible food each day.We throw away enough trash every day to fill 63,000 garbage trucks. Every day Americans throw away 1 million bushels of litter out their car window (Bushel - 64 pints). Over 80% of items in landfills can be recycled, but they’re not.

Water Pollution Facts
Fourteen billion pounds of garbage (mostly plastic) is dumped into the ocean every year. At least 320 million people in China do not have access to clean drinking water. In America, 40% of the rivers and 46% of the lakes are polluted and are considered unhealthy for swimming, fishing or aquatic life. Cruise ships are also a major source of water pollution. They produce over 200,000 gallons of sewage which is mostly released in the ocean. Apart fromm that, they are also causing at least 35,000 gallons of water contamination due to oil spill.

Air pollution in India is estimated to cause 527, 700 deaths every year. Air pollution caused in traffic increase the chances of heart attack. By 2050, 6 million people will die per year due to air pollution.

Noise Pollution Facts
Excessive noise can lead to emotional problems such as mental fatigue, anxiety, and aggression. The cause for hearing loss is not aging, but noise. The main sources of noise pollution are coming from transportation and construction systems. The average noise level in many classrooms is not just associated with impaired learning — but with permanent hearing loss.
