HOW DOES POLLUTION OCCUR

  • Pollution can occur in many ways but the largest manufacturer of it is humans. Do to the constant expansion and industrialization of society we destroy our natural recourses and our environment.

NATURAL FORMS OF POLLUTION

  • Pollution is not entirely our fault it can happen do to things such as forest fires or volcanic eruption which can have huge effects on all of our ecosystems for generations to come

THE EFFECTS IT CAN HAVE

  • The excessive amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere can cause smog which can affect animals and plant life by blocking out the sun
  • It can also cause acid rain to form which causes a chemical reaction in clouds and cause to rain a solution that kills plants and even erode rocks

EFFECTS CONTINUING

  • About five years ago was the date of the huge BP oil spill that ravaged the ocean and it's marine life. It took several years and billions of dollars to even come close to free of oil.
  • Several years earlier the exon Valdez hit a reef off the coast of Alaska. It was dubbed one of the worst oil spills in history and affected generations upon generations of wildlife in one of the most pristine environments on the planet

POLLUTION AND GLOBAL WARMING

  • Due to the excessive amounts of CO2 in the air it has been causing the global increase of temperature known as the green house affect. How this works is the co2 in the atmosphere traps UV rays from the sun that would typically exit. Since they are trapped they continue to heat or planet more than usual
  • If this trend were to continue it would melt glaciers which would raise the global sea level destroying all costal cities.

THE SMOG OF CALIFORNIA

  • Due to the massive number of people, industry, and automobiles in California they nationally have the largest amount of air pollution. The smog in California is so thick that some days you can't even see the sun. This is one of the main reasons California has been in a massive drought for several years and affects the lively hood of all Californians

WHY SHOULD WE CARE?

  • If we continue this trend that has been going on for the last three decades the state of our world will be completely altered. There are many ways we can prevent and restore but we all need to put forth the effort to help fix our planet
