What poison dart frogs eat:

  • Ants
  • Insects
  • Spiders
  • Termites

FUN FACTS

  • It weighs about 8 grams
  • It grows to 3.0-4.5cm in length
  • The black spots are unique to each frog
  • Spend most of their day hopping around
  • Their poison glands on their skin are used as a defense mechanism
  • They were first discovered in 1968
  • When the tadpoles hatch the male carries them on his back
  • Can live more than 10 years in captivity
  • The golden poisonous dart frog has enough poison to kill 20,000 mice
