Since the return from her stay on the moon

And now you're lonely looking[alliteration] for yourself out there.
In the song, a man is speaking to a woman he loves who has returned from a soul-searching trip. He appears bitter about the fact that she left, although he says that she is beautiful since she has returned. He appreciates little differences about her personality and behavior in the song.
The song uses several examples of figurative language. The most obvious is metaphor. The clear meaning is that the woman has returned from a trip somewhere on earth, which he is comparing to a trip to space. He uses “drops of Jupiter” to begin this metaphor, and continues with metaphors of “stay on the moon” and “tracing her way through the constellation”. The song also uses simile comparing the way the women appears after the trip. The singer uses light images to describe beautiful things “she acts like summer and walks like rain.” He also uses personification when he asks the women if she fell “for a shooting star/one without a permanent scar” in a tragic metaphor.
These poetry devices create a sad story of a woman who leaves a man to find herself, on a journey of self-discovery, from which she returns more beautiful than when she left.
