BY: RYAN TRAAS AND OWEN SORENSON
2.
WHAT POACHING MEANS
Killing or capturing of wild animals, usually associated with land use rights.
3.
FACTS ABOUT POACHING
Threatens the survival of many scarce species.
Poachers kill the animals for different reasons
They desire the valuable parts of the animals' bodies
Some kill animals for fun or to brag about what they poached
Some sell the animals illegally as pets
4.
CAUSE OF POACHING
It is happing because they sell the animals ALIVE for illegal pets.
There are hunting dogs that they use to chase down their target.
poachers are to fault because they are wiping out all of the wildlife.
5.
HOW IT EFFECTS US
It affects the world by people who hunt will not have enough wildlife to hunt.
Also there will be no wild life to see if poachers take over.
Then there are less of that species, so then there predators don't have as much to eat.
6.
SOLUTIONS(PAST AND FUTURE IDEAS)
They created an organization called C.I.T.E.S.
In the U.S. The National Park system and the National Wildlife Refugee system incorporate vast areas of protected land.
Many endangered species inhabit these lands.
7.
HOW WE CAN HELP
We can report if we see a poacher.
We could create an organization to stop poaching.
8.
OUR OPINION ON THE ISSUE
We think we should stop poaching before it gets way out of hand.
9.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMARION
Thousands of elephants die each year so their tusks can be carved into religious objects.
It is a deadly crime against wildlife.
Legal hunters kill tens of millions of animals each year.
For each of those animals, another is killed illegally.
