  • Height- 5-16 millimeters
  • White flowers in clusters
  • Grown in humid,northern climates that have winter chills.
  • Squirrels, mice, rabbits, foxes, brown bears, and black bears eat blueberries.
  • Uses- food-juices, jelly, jam, pies, muffins, cereals
  • Adaptations-Can survive a even after a fire

YARROW/ARCHILLEA MILLEFOLIUM

  • Height- 1-3ft
  • White flowers in clusters, leaves serrated
  • Grown in dry, sandy areas
  • Moose, caribou, and bees eat yarrow
  • Uses-clotting blood, acne, and teas
  • Adapted to survive in dry, sandy areas

  • Dry, forestry areas
  • Humans and bees eat fireweed
  • Uses-candies, syrup, jellies, ice cream, and tea
  • Adaptations- have silky tufts to reproduce

  • Live in moist tundra
  • Brown bears, black bears, humans, birds eat cranberries
  • Uses- sauce, juice, and jam
  • Adapted to live in moist areas.

  • Grows up to 50cm
  • White flowers in clusters
  • Grows in moist environments
  • Rabbits and small rodents eat Labrador tea
  • Uses-medicine, brewing beer, and bug repellent
  • Adapted to live in moist environments

  • 10-90cm tall
  • Pointy green leaves and pine cone looking ends
  • Grow in moist soils
  • I could not find what eats horsetail
  • Uses- medicine, polishing wood, strengthening fingernails, and removing resin build up.
  • Adapted by reproducing through spores

DEVILS CLUB/DEVILS WALKING STICK/ECHINOPANAX HORRIDUM

  • 3-5 feet tall
  • Red drupes in clusters
  • Grow in moist, dense, forests
  • Nothing eats devils club
  • Uses- Can make face paint, traditional medicines, poisoning your enemies
  • Adaptations-Poison

WILD IRIS/IRIS SETOS

  • 10cm-3ft
  • Purple flowers
  • Grow in dry areas
  • Bees eat Iris nectar
  • Uses-Roots can be used for nets and catching animals. The fresh roots are toxic so you can poison your enemies
  • Adapted to dry areas

NOOTKA LUPINE/LUPINUS NOOTKATENSIS

  • Height- up to 60cm
  • Blue and purple flowers
  • Grow in meadows, gravel bars, and roadsides
  • Bears and Bees eat Lupine it has poison so most animals don’t eat it
  • Uses-poisoning your enemies
  • Adaptations-Poison to hurt anything that eats it

TOXICITY

  • The seeds of the lupine are what holds the poison, the poison isn’t harmful to humans but internal use is not advised.
