EVERGREEN

  • having foliage that remains green and functional through more than one growing season

  • Falling off or shed at a specific season or stage

DECIDUOUS EXAMPLES

  • These are deciduous trees
  • The leaves have changed colors
  • The leaves have fallen

EVERGREEN EXAMPLES

  • Remains green for more than one growing season
  • Leafs are still there

SCOTCH PINE TREE

  • Needle like so I went to 2
  • Went to 2b
  • Leaves aren't scale like, long and narrow
  • Needle like in twos united at the base to form bundles
  • So these trees are scotch pine trees!!!!!!

RED CEDAR TREE

  • Leaves are needle like or scale like so I went to 2
  • Leaves are scale like so I went to 2a
  • Leaves are small, scalelike, close together, and overlapping
  • This means these trees are a red cedar tree!!!!

GREEN ASH

  • Leaves aren't needle like or scale like so I went to 3
  • At 3a leaves are opposite so I went to 4
  • 4a doesn't match so I went to 4b
  • 4b says leaves are compound, once pinnately compound
  • This means the tree is a green ash tree
