TO TALK ABOUT PLANS WE USE

• Will
• Going to
• May / might
• Future continuous
• Present continuous

WILL

• We use WILL for things we decide to do as we are speaking (instant decisions, offers, promises)
• e.g. That looks heavy. I'll help you carry it.

GOING TO / FUTURE CONTINUOUS

• We use these structures for actions we have already decided to do in the near future (intentions)
• e.g. This time tomorrow, I'll be waiting for my exam to start.

MAY /MIGHT

• If we are not sure whether something will happen or not we use MAY or MiGHT.
• e.g. We may visit or grandparents next week.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

• We use the present continuous for actions we have already arranged to do in the near future (plans).
• e.g. We've booked the flight. We're flying to Barbados in February.

DEFINE THE MEANING

He is going to the dentist on Tuesday morning.

This cheese smells horrible. I'm not going to eat it.

Oh, I've left the door open. I'll go and shut it.

I won' t tell anyone what happened. I promise.

What are you doing this evening?

Next week this time I'll be watching film at the cinema.

Take an umbrella with you. It might rain later.
