Acceleration

How fast an object can change speed.

Air Resistance

  • It is also called drag.
  • Is friction that slows something down.
  • Opposite of the other motion.

Balanced Forces

Two forces pushing in opposite directions on something.

Force

Force is a push or pull to move something.

Friction is when two things push together causing heat and slows things such as skateboards.

Gravitational Potential Energy

Energy an object possesses because of gravity.

Gravity

  • The force that keeps something on Earth
  • Makes things fall.
  • Newton's law of gravity applies to this.

Inertia

When an object is forced to stop moving.

Kinetic Energy

When energy moves.

NEWTON'S 1ST LAW OF MOTION (INERTIA) IS THAT IF AN OBJECT ISN'T MOVING, SOMETHING HAS TO MAKE IT OR IF AN OBJECT IS MOVING, SOMETHING HAS TO STOP IT OR IT WILL KEEP MOVING.

Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion
(F= M x A) is that the larger the object, the more force it requires to move it.

Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion(Action-Reaction)

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Potential Energy

Energy based on the object's position

Speed

  • How fast an object is going.
  • The rate of which an object can move.
  • Ex: Fast or slow

Thrust is a sudden push.

Unbalanced forces are when two different forces have different magnitude.

Velocity- The speed something has in a direction
