Air Resistance
- It is also called drag.
- Is friction that slows something down.
- Opposite of the other motion.
Friction is when two things push together causing heat and slows things such as skateboards.
Gravitational Potential Energy
Gravity
- The force that keeps something on Earth
- Makes things fall.
- Newton's law of gravity applies to this.
NEWTON'S 1ST LAW OF MOTION (INERTIA) IS THAT IF AN OBJECT ISN'T MOVING, SOMETHING HAS TO MAKE IT OR IF AN OBJECT IS MOVING, SOMETHING HAS TO STOP IT OR IT WILL KEEP MOVING.
Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion
(F= M x A) is that the larger the object, the more force it requires to move it.
Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion(Action-Reaction)
Speed
- How fast an object is going.
- The rate of which an object can move.
- Ex: Fast or slow
Unbalanced forces are when two different forces have different magnitude.
Velocity- The speed something has in a direction
