WHAT IS A FOSSIL FUEL?

  • Natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed from the remains of living organisms.

HOW ARE FOSSIL FUELS FORMED?

  • Fossil fuels are non-renewable.
  • formed over millions of years, from the remains of dead organisms.
  • coal was formed from dead plant material crude oil
  • gas were formed from dead marine organisms.
  • dead organisms are put under a lot of pressure, so eventually form fossils

WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?

  • Fossil fuel are usually turned into fuel.
  • Fossil fuel is used in Cars, As they are turned into fuel to power the car
  • Wood and Coal is used to generate heat

Although fossil fuels are extremely important in day to day life, they're running out. Every year we use 11 billion tonnes of oil from fossil fuel, and we only have a limited amount left.

HOW CAN WE USE IT RESPONSIBLY?

  • There are many alternatives to fossil fuels
  • Wind, wave, solar power to name some
  • Use the remaining fossil fuels carefully and only when needed

WHAT COUNTRY USES THE MOST FOSSIL FUEL

QATAR (which has a carbon emission rate of 14.58 metric tons per person)

I think we should completely stop using fossil fuels, and rely on renewable energies completely.

WHY FOSSIL FUELS ARE MORE POPULAR?

  • They are cheaper
  • They are more widely available, and easy to produce
  • A lot of money can be made from fossil fuel when countries find it
  • No development needed like having to make turbines

HOW CAN WE CONSERVE FOSSIL FUELS

  • Walk or take the bike more
  • Consider using a electric car
  • Recycle plastic
  • Use less electricity
