Physical therapists treat patients to relieve their pain and increase their strength and mobility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

When you are working in this field you have to be able to stand for long periods of time , run and walk long distances. Also you must be able to stretch, bend, reach out and twist, make quick precise judgments and being able to use your muscles to lift ,pull ,and push objects.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Communicate - read and understand work related material- understand others.
  • Reason and problem solve - analyze ideas and use logic to determine there strength and weakness.
  • Use math and science- use scientific methods to to solve the problem.
  • Manage , yourself , people, time and things-check how well someone is doing/ learning something .
  • Work with people-help them learn something.
  • Work with things- analyze need and requirements when designing products.

Theres a lot of job openings for this career because of the new heath care law that allows people to have heath insurance. So that makes people want to seek out heath care. Also because of the large increase in the aging population.

I believe that i would like this career because you get to work with people of all ages and being able to get up and move while you are on the job. I also like how get to help and talk to people everyday.
