THE ANDES MT.

  • The Andes Mts are located on the pacific coast of South America.
  • The Andes go through Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina.

THE ANDES MT

  • The climate ranges from freezing and snow, hear round, at the peaks to hot, blistering weather down below the mountains.
  • At 3,000 ft above sea level there are rainforests. Going to 6,500 ft, there are grasslands and deciduous forests. At 10,000, there are hardy grasses, shrubs, and coniferous forests. Higher than that, there are the Alpine pastures.

  • The chinchilla, cougar, an animal in the cat family, huemul, Andean Condor, coot, and some others live in the Andes.
  • The Aconcagua is the largest mountain is the Andes, standing at 22,841 ft above sea level.

  • It is mostly in Brazil but is also in Peru and Columbia.
