  • Land almost all surrounded by water, connected to mainland
  • A peninsula is like an ornament about to fall off the tree, because it is barely connected

ISTHMUS

  • A thin piece of land connecting two larger lands.
  • An Isthmus is like a bridge because it connects two land parts.
