BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

EXERCISING FACTS AND RISKS

  • Physical activity can relief stress, enhance mood, strenthen sleep, and improve self esteem.
  • Phyisical activities can help build friendships and help improve your health.
  • Risks of not exercising include obesity, dietbetes, cancer, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, depresstion, and death.
  • Staying active everyday for at least 60 total minutes is important to staying alive and healthy longer.
  • Physical activity is and form of movement that involves your body using energy.

LESSON 2

IMPROVING YOUR FITNESS

LIFTING AND GETTING FIT

  • It is important to know how fit you are so you can find out if you need to become more fit.
  • Here are some fitness tests you can do to determine how fit you are.
  • Tests: Cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
  • There are two different forms of exercise : aerobic and anaerbic.
  • The three ways your body uses resistance are isometric exercises, isotonic exercises, isokinetic exercises.

LESSON 3

PLANNING A PERSONAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM

PERSONAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM (TYPES OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDE STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY, AEROBIC, AND MODERATE INTENSITY)

  • Identifying your fitness goal is a good way to find motivation for you to get in shape.
  • When making a personal activity program, consider your personal needs, in a realistic manner.
  • Such as costs, where you live, your schedule, your fitness level, your overall health, and your personal saftey.
  • There are different stages of a work out, including the warm up, the work out, and the cool down.
  • Principles of Building fitness are specifty, overload, progression, and regularity. Balance here is key.

LESSON 4

FITNESS SAFTEY AND AVOIDING INJURIES

EXERCISE SAFTEY (DRINK PLENTY OF WATER)

  • Ways to protect your selve in exercise include use of the correct saftey equipment, paying attention to other people
  • objects and weather, know your level and dont go too far past your limit, warm up before and cool down after
  • exercises, obey all restictions, limits, and rules, and practice good sportsmanship.
  • Injurries with activities can include frostbite, hypothermia, overexertion, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, muscle cramp,
  • strains, blisters, sprains, fractures, dislocations, concussions windburn, sunburn, and skin cancer.
