PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Activation Energy

the initial input of energy in a reaction
The site of the chemical reaction

Active Site

Part of the enzyme that interacts with the substrate

ATP

Is adenosine triphosphate and a source of energy

Calvin Cycle

Is the second reaction accruing during photosynthesis

Catalyst

Anything that speeds up reactions

Cell Respiration

When living organisms break down food like glucose to release energy

Chlorophyll

A pigment of leaves and plants and product of carbohydrates

Chloroplast

Is a structure of a green plant cell in which photosynthesis occurs

Enzyme

A biological catalyst that speeds up chemical reactions (protein)

Glucose

The sugars produced by photosynthesis, monomer of carbohydrates

Grana

Stacked groups of thylakoids, inside the chloroplast

Light Reaction

The first phase of photosynthesis producing ATP, NADPH, and Oxygen

Photosynthesis

Intake of CO2, H2O, and light makes ATP, NADPH, and Oxygen, and makes sugars

Stroma

Fluid-like substance inside the chloroplast, that is the site of the Calvin Cycle

Substrate

The reactant side of chemical reactions, the initial input

Thylakoid

A single disk in Grana, that is the site of Light Reactions
