Philippines is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. Situated in the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of about 7 641 islands.

The Philippines has over 100 million inhabitants and occupy the 13th place in the world in terms of population. An additional 10 million Filipinos live outside the country.

The Philippines is in the equatorial climate zone so that the air temperature is equal throughout the year and is about 30 degrees Celsius. There are only 2 seasons: dry and rainy.

The biggest delicacy of the Philippines is BALUT - a cooked duck egg with a small bird’s embryo. Yuck!

Numerous festivals take place in the Philippines. The most popular is The MassKara Festival in Bacolod, in October. People in masks are dancing on the streets.
