PHASES OF MITOSIS

Mitosis is a type of cell division when two identical daughter cells are formed including the same number of chromosomes and also the same kind of chromosomes of the parent cell.

PROPHASE

Prophase is the first phase in mitosis. The person can see the chromosomes, the spindle is formed. At the end of prophase, the nuclear envelope is not visible.

METAPHASE

The duplicated genetic material of the parent cell is divided into two identical daughter cells.

ANAPHASE

The doubled centromeres of each pair of chromatids separate and move towards opposite ends, poles.

TELOPHASE

The nuclear envelope becomes formed again. The genetic information is separated into the two daughter cells. Telophase begins when the replicated, paired chromosomes have divided. This is the end of nuclear division.

The physical reproduction of the cell
