PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Phase Change

Solid to Liquid: a solid can become a liquid by MELTING. When a solid get heated the particles start to move and spread out. Eventually, it is a liquid. MELTING POINT: the temperature at which a substance melts

Liquid to Solid: a liquid can become a solid if you freeze it. This happens because the kinetic energy lessens. When that happens it means the particles are beginning to move less and less.

Liquid to Gas: Boiling is when a liquid turn to a gas. When a liquid is heat particles move even farther out and it becomes a gas.

Solids to gases: this process is called sublimation and requires a very large amount of kinetic energy

Gas to liquid- this process is called condensation also referred to as deposition. This is when a gas cools down, their particles lessen.
