Begin Early

Interns start their job search in September!
61% of PGM students begin their search for internships in September.

Teach them

Interns want to learn something!
55% of students rank the ability to acquire knowledge and skills as the single most important factor in determining whether the internship was successful.

Make it good

And they will recommend you to others!
69% of PGM students would seek out an internship that other students recommended to them.

Guide them

Give them positive reinforcement
60% of PGM students stated the reason they had a "bad" internship experience was due to being treated poorly by their supervisor

Get regular feedback from them

Assist with housing in any way you can
52% of PGM students stated the lack of housing at an internship site would be a deal breaker.

Help them plan for their future careers
Students need guidance. They look to professionals in the field to offer them insight on how to succeed in the golf industry.

follow up

End the internship on a high note
Make sure your interns leave your facility with a feeling of accomplishment. Tell them how they contributed to your business, what skills they need to work on to improve (if any) and offer your assistance for the future.
