Bye, Ralph!

"Surely he took up our pain, and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5 NIV

One day a little girl said, "Daddy, who is Richard Stands?
Dad said, "I never heard of him.
The little girl said, "He must be an important person."
"Why?" Dad asked.
She answered, "When we pledge allegiance to the flag in school we say, 'I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for Richard Stands.'"

Why was the girl confused? She misunderstood the words to the Pledge of Allegiance. It was a misunderstanding.
