In October of 1828 Bernard Lassimone patented the first pencil sharpener.He was also from France.

The pencil sharpener is a tool used to sharpen pencils.Inside it has a blade and there is a hole you put your pencil in and turn or twist your pencil.

Did you know?:
Bernard's version for the pencil sharpener wasn't good enough so when the demand grew for pencil sharpeners Walker K. Foster made a better version for those who needed and it was also the first American pencil sharpener.

Another in enter of the Pencil sharpener John Lee Love was an African-American carpenter in Fall River Massachusetts he made the portable pencil sharpener.Some people called it the love sharpener he also made the lightweight plaster hawk in 1895 He was born on September 26,1889 and died on December 26,1931
