FACTS

  • The Japanese was led by Admiral isoroku yamamoto
  • The Japanese force was led vice admiral chuchi nagumo
  • The Japanese used code name "operation Hawaii" for the attack on Pearl Harbor.
  • The Japanese fleet consist of 353 (planes & submarines) that attack in 2 waves.
  • The Japanese managed to destroy 20 American naval vessels including 8 battleships & 200 airplanes

  • A total of 2,335 u.s. servicemen were killed & 1,143 were wounded. 68 civilians were also killed.
  • After Pearl Harbor president FDR declared war on japan
  • 3 days later japan allied with Germany & Italy creating the axis powers
