Pc building, how and what your budget will look like

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CUSTOM VS PRE-BUILT

CAN YOU BUILD A BUDGET PC THAT BEATS THE PERFORMANCE OF A MODERN COMPUTER

I WHENT WITH BOTH GAMING AND CASUAL USE/WORK AS SEPARATE PROJECTS

I decided to use my budget best, I would use parts from the first computer (work) and upgrade most components and add more to meet the requirements of gaming.

THE WORK BASED COMPUTER

EVERYTHING IS HEWETT PACKARDS FOR AN ORGANISED AND BASIC BUT APPEALING LOOK

BUDGET WAS £70

  • £15 Hp printer and monitor(19 inch flat screen LCD)+Hp keyboard and mouse -eBay-
  • £20 desktop case and motherboard with cpu And one 500gb hard drive -eBay(local pick up)
  • £12.50 power supply -pcpartsandnews.com-
  • £9 Extra 500gb hard drive
  • £13.98 8gb ram
  • Why eBay? Cheaper and only the
  • Cables pulled from broken machines cost nothing (all worked)

the matching amd quad core cost half of the Intel I5 which has better speed but worse graphic visuals and therefor I chose an extra 8gb of ram to recover from the speed loss from choosing the amd alternative. The computer now was at a good stage and progress was also good. The desktop worked well and was great at scanning the web, I compared it to the Mac book pro.
Mac book pro. Custom pc desktop
Cpu: dual core (Intel exeon) Quad core (AMD phenom II)-win
Ram: 8gb 8gb-draw
Hard drive:500gb. 1tb (1000gb)-win …

SUCCESS!

What I learnt i needed and I don't

We do not need to replace the mother because realistically the high end £100/£200 motherboards only have a 6% performance increase, they may look nicer have more PCIE slots and possibly more DDR3 slots but they arnt needed when you have a tight budget

You also don't need DDR3 which is the newer type of ram slot which was introduced recently only because they had a lower energy use, which mean's that there more expensive if you want to buy ram for them although there just as fast and durable with matching MHz options.

What we need and we don't need

Water cooling does work but with the £90 you can do a lot and it's barely worth it in a project like this. It's only worth it when there's a lot of power consumption and therefor you need to force the heat to escape the components and keep them cool in an extreme way.
Secondly the Internet is full of advertisement about cases that filter the air and make it purer for your PC to breath, they somehow unexplainably have fans that are faster.
THEY DONT, all lies, they may mildly be better but never a larger increase on performance

WHAT DID I ACHIEVE

  • 60 frames per second (50-70 in 4k ultra HD on recent games. Good compared to the 30 fps that a ps4 can handle well on a max of 2k 1080p HD.)
  • 1tb of 7200rpm hard drive storage (rpm a measurement of speed allowing fast startup, most hard drives range around 5000rpm)
  • light up case with green LED's, and LED fans for a popular alien ware alike look and gaming approach .
  • Amazing colour accuracy and colour variety. Makes imagery more realistic in games, different GPUs have different colour accuracy

People should be more engaged in computing and then progressing on to build a computer. Or simply upgrade a computer to its full potential because they benefit, they develop skills and would have something better than what you had for the price of dirt. You also result with something personalised for your own needs that has the capability you want.

THANKYOU
