NOUN

  • The function: a noun is a person, place or thing.
  • The sentence: the DOG ran HOME to get its new BONE.

VERB

  • The function: a verb shows action/being.
  • The sentence: I had to RUN to school because I was almost LATE.

  • The function: it replaces a nouns.
  • The sentence: SAM was bored, so she went and played SOCCER outside.

ADVERB

  • The function: an adverb describes either a verb, adjective or other adverbs.
  • The sentence: the man yells LOUD and talks QUIET.

  • The function: when a nouns follows after a single.
  • The sentence: A CUP, A BOWL.

  • The function: the relationship between two words in the sentence
  • The sentence: she's GOING TO her soccer game.

CONJUNCTION

  • The function: it connects things like words, phrases, clauses or sentences.
  • The sentence: she had so much FUN AT THE FAIR so she went AGAIN.
