WHAT IS THE GREAT DEPRESSION?

  • The Great Depression was a period of time beginning in 1929 to 1930. The stock market crash started the whole problem. Many jobs were lost. Many families were out on the streets.

THE STOCK MARKET

  • The stock market was during the 1920's
  • By then the production had already declined and unemployment has risen.
  • This was leaving the stock I great excess of their real value
  • The market collapse were low wages, in debt, a struggling agricultural and excess large bank loan .

HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE AFFECTED?

  • The Great Depression did not affect everyone in the same way.
  • Many rich people didn't feel like the Great Depression impact on them at all
  • Over 600,000 people were affected, mostly people that had became poor and homeless.

AS YOU CAN SEE...

  • Many people lost there life over the Great Depression
  • Many farmers crops were destroyed and they could not grow their food anymore
  • Many jobs were lost and people didn't have money without there jobs

HERE IS A EXAMPLE OF WHAT HAPPEN

HERE WE HAVE A HOMELESS GIRL

  • She needs money
  • She need food to survive
  • She has a baby and the baby cannot be fed.
  • She has no money !
  • The stock market crash took away her whole life.

  • Dirty Thirties was a period of severe dust storms greatly damaged the ecology and agriculture of the U.S. and Canadian prairies during the 1930s; severe drought and a failure lot apply dry land farming methods to prevent wind erosion .
  • Dirty Thirties is the name of the dust storm that occur and destroyed farmers crops, and etc.
