STEGOSAURUS

  • The stegosaurus was a large, plant eating dinosaur that lived during the late jurassic period.
  • They were mostly found in Western North America of Portugal.
  • The stegosaurus had 2 brains one in its head and one in its pelvis.

  • It was about the size of a bus and carried around two rows of bony plates.
  • Stegosaurus has a reputation for having a small brain and one of the lowest brain-to-body ratios.
  • The stegosaurus was a 6,800 pound dinosaur.
  • The diet of the stegosaurus is plants such as mosses, ferns, horestails, and fruits.
  • They were one of the less dinosaurs to become extinct because they were herbivores.

STEGOSAURIDE FAMILY

  • Stegosaurus was the largest and most well-known member of the stegosauride family.
  • The word stegosaurus came from the greek words "stegos" meaning roof top lizard.
  • The U.S state Colorado lists the stegosaurus as its state dinosaur.
