One week before the Wall Street Crash. Investors on new York stock exchange dumped 13 million share causing the value of shares to plummet.

"THE CRASH"

  • Bad economic situation
  • For more than 3 years
  • Banks were unable to lend money to businesses
  • People lost jobs
  • Banks wee unable to repay people their money

FAMILIES

  • Unemployment rate of 3.2%
  • Nobody had a job because of the businesses not having money
  • Without businesses having money employees were not payed
  • Shantytown was a slum settlement

THE NEW DEAL

  • Helped banks and the economy to function again
  • Consisted of job creation
  • Civil uplift, to bring every place to be improved so people can work again
  • Established to help stabilize the economy and civil socity
