HOW ARE PYRAMIDS BUILT?
The ancient Egyptian who built the pyramids
may have been able to move heavy stone blocks across the desert
by wetting the sand in front of a contraption built to pull the heavy
objects, according to a new study.
Many of the pyramids were built with different stone material.

Most of the material used was fairly
rough low grade limestone to build the pyramid core, while fine white
limestone was often employed for the outer casing as well as to the cover

Though pink granite was also often used on inner walls.
Basalt or alabaster was not uncommon for floors, particularly in the mortuary
temples and as was mudbricks to build walls within the temples
(though often as not they had limestone walls).

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST PYRAMID?
Until the Eiffel Tower came along in 1889, the Great Pyramid of Giza
was the tallest structure in the entire world, Despite being nearly 4,500 years old!
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in
the Giza Necropolis bordering what is now El Giza, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven
Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.
