• houses made of mud, wood, and palm tree leaves

• they had a god for most resources
• the gods would take animal form
• built structures for the gods they believed in

science & technology

• built huge heads to represent gods
• dated back to 650 B.C.
• glyph symbols were on most of their sculptures
