PRESENTATION OUTLINE

1

Giant Kelp Forests are dense underwater ecosystems found in coastal Alaska and other coastal environments

2

Sea Otter huntinng, kelp harvesting, overfishing, pollution and coastal runoff, climate change have endangered the ecosystem

9

Kelp forest and sea otters have a mutualistic relationship. The kelp forest provides a home for the sea otter and provides it with food. The otters eat sea urchins which eat kelp.

10

Most other relationships are commensalism with the kelp forest providing shelter from weather and predators as well as providing food. The forest usually gets nothing in return.
