The rules to adding integers
*if the same sign add the numbers and keep the sign
*if different signs subtract the numbers and keep the sign of the bigger number

For example
5+6=11 because it's the same sign
But if you had 8+-12 it would equal negative 4 because they have different signs and the bigger # is negative

For example+12-+6= +6
Or +6-+12 would equal -6 because the smaller number is first

Rules to subtracting integers
*subtract the numbers if the bigger # is first the number is positive if the smaller # is first
the answer is negative

You can also add the numbers
* add the numbers and take the sign of the first # for example: -1-+3 you change the sign of the first number and of the minus sign so it equals negative 4
