Cell membrane

  • A protective outer covering of all cells
  • Regulates interaction between the cell and the environment

Cell wall

  • Rigid structure
  • Enclesoses and protects cell

Nucleus

  • Controls all cell activities
  • Contains hereditary material made of proteins and DNA

Chloroplast

  • Green
  • Contains clorophyll
  • Uses extra light to produce sugar from carbon dioxide and water

Endoplasmic reticulum

  • Moves materials around in a cell
  • Made up of a series of folded membranes
  • Can be rough or smooth

Mitochondria

  • Breaks down food amd releases energy

Ribosome

  • Small structure
  • Makes proteins

Golgi body

  • Package cellular materials
  • Transport materials within or out of the cell

Cytoplasm

  • Constantly moving
  • Gel-like mixture
  • Inside the cell membrane
  • Contains hereditary material

Extra

Tissue

  • Group of similar cells working together to do one job

Organ

  • Structure made up of different types of tissues that work together

Organ system

  • Made up of different organs that work together
