PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Opium was first called mysterious flower by the ancient civilizations. They did not think the plant had any healing powers or had any addictive properties. Instead they thought opium had magical powers that welcome happiness and a trance like feeling. As time went on they thought they should share the magical plant to the world and soon Opium was shipped all over. As time progressed more and more people were drinking and buying Opium, it was so popular that people preferred opium over alcohol.
CONSEQUENCES OF USING OPIUM
- Physical
- After taking a large dose of opium a person can get anxiety
- When the drug wears off, most users report having diarrhea
- Others report of having a dry mouth or being dehydrated

Where it comes.
Archaeologists found evidence that have been growing Opium for more than 6,000 years. Around 4,000 BCE, the plant was grown in a Fertile Crescent in Mesopotamia. That area is now Iran and Iraq.
How the drug is consumed
Opium can be eaten ,chewed ,or smoked . Sometimes farmers who grow Opium illegally get high by collecting the sap.
This drug is appealing and addictive to others because opium is a powerful drug. It produces a sense of euphoria, it makes the user feel completely relaxed and sedated.
