REFLECTIONS

(PART 1)

Reflection 1

1. It's important to live out the three dimensions of faith because God gave us so many blessings so we should thank Him by living them out. It's also important because if we don't pray or practice, we grow farther away from God. It's also important because, if we believe in and trust God, He will continue to love and bless us more each day. Finally, it is important because if we continue to do good for God, and to other people, the devil's powers will grow weaker, and goodness and faith in God will spread throughout the world. Overall, it is very important because it increases our faith in, and makes us closer to God.

Reflection 1

2. I can live out the three dimensions in many ways. One example of the ways is to thank the Lord for all his blessings to show that you appreciate them. Another is by always praying, so you keep in touch, and talk to God. Another way is by phrasing the Lord, for He is the almighty God. Overall, there are a lot of ways of living out the dimensions.

Reflection 2

From the video, I learned that "giving is the best communication", and that we should all be generous to one another.

ANSWERS TO GUIDE QUESTIONS

  • He made them go in pairs because 2 people provide valid witnesses instead of 1.
  • My mission in life is to be happy, and I can fulfill this mission by staying positive and appreciating what I have.
  • I can deal with it even if I know that I'm in the side of truth by not arguing with them, and respecting and forgiving them.

REFLECTION 5

  • I can value resting by slowing down when I need to.
  • He considered them to be like sheep without a shepherd, because they had nobody to guide them like how a shepherd guides a sheep.
  • I can become a good shepherd to others by being patient with them. I can also guide them to do good things and listen to the gospel. I can share them stories that I hear from my Christian Living class.

Reflection of Sunday Mass of 8/2/15:

If you believe in Jesus, you will be satisfied with your life and be happy.

Reflection for Sunday Mass of 8/9/15:

From the gospel today, I learned that the only way to get to God, is by following Christ. I also learned that, even if you're healthy on the outside,(or literally), you still won't feel good, if you are not healthy on the inside,(or are mean and don't believe in God).

(PART 2)

SAINT PEDRO CALUNGSOD

  • Born in Visayas on July 21, 1654.
  • Died in Tumon, Guam on April 2, 1672.
  • He was canonized on October 21, 2012 in Vatican City by Pope Benedict XVI.
  • He is also known as Petrus Calungsod, Pietro Calungsod, Peter Calungsod and Pedro Calonso.

St. Pedro Calungsod was a Filipino student that volunteered to teach the Chamorros about God led by Blessed Diego Luis. While he was teaching, a Chinese criminal named Choco spread rumors that when Pedro and his classmates baptized their children, they used poisonous water. The next day, while he was teaching again, two of the Chamorros planned to kill him. While he wasn't looking the two Chamorros killed him and Diego Luis with a spear and a sword, and then shouted angrily at Christ while destroying a rosary. After killing Diego and Pedro, they tied them together and let the sink to the bottom of the ocean,( the bodies have still not been found up to this day).

What I can learn from him:

From him, I can learn to have bravery when fighting for God, and having a lot of faith in Him.

Bible Verse: I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to Him, and He answered my prayer. PSALM 120: 1 NLT

REFLECTIONS FOR RETREAT AND OUTREACH

Outreach Reflection:

From the exposure activities, I learned that some people feel neglected, but if we reach out to them, we are following God's plan to share our blessings and spread His word.

Retreat Reflection:

I learned that I can't do anything without God, and that if we have faith in Him, He will let us rest with Him in heaven, just like how it says in the verse: "Whoever remains in me and I in Him will bear much fruit , because without me, you can do nothing." John 15:5
