PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WHY ARE THE COLONISTS COMPLAINING?

  • Colonists are unhappy about being
  • With British, who doesn't care as much as
  • They say they do.
  • British has violated many laws and disrespected
  • The colonists several times.

RIGHTS

  • King George has tried and done many different things
  • That have taken away rights from people. (Colonists)
  • He has tried to take away men's rights to create laws.
  • He has taken the right away from people to buy things
  • From where they want, instead they have to buy things only from England.

LAWS

  • "Even when we do pass laws, he won't sign them so
  • they can go into effect."
  • Explanation: When laws are being passed, King George won't
  • Let these laws apply to him or keep this law in mind for
  • Daily life. He won't excessive this law.

SETTLERS.

  • He won't let new settlers come to America,
  • and he won't let the settlers take over new land from the Native Americans.
  • Explanation: King George wouldn't allow new settlers come to America, he
  • Also wouldn't allow settlers to be able to take over land from the natives.
  • This created unfairness.

GOVERNMENT

  • "He sends lots of new government officials that we don't
  • Want, and he makes us pay for them."
  • Explanation: King George is sending new government officials that
  • The people don't want, but are forced to pay for them. This also
  • Provided unfairness and unhappiness between the people and King.

SOLDIERS

  • "He sends lots of English soldiers here when there isn't even a war,
  • and makes us let them live in our own houses."
  • Explanation: King George is sending English soldiers to fight when
  • They're no wars occurring or beginning, the soldiers need to be
  • Housed and fed by the people, which costs money and is unfair for the citizen.

TAXES

  • He makes us pay all kinds of taxes without asking us about it.
  • And He won't let us have a jury for our trials, only a judge.
  • Explanation: King George makes them pay several taxes that aren't
  • Wanted or needed. He also wouldn't let them have juries only judges.
  • This provides unfairness and unwanted anger towards King George.

MY OPINION

  • I think King George was a bad, unfair, and selfish king.
  • I think this because in many of the laws he has broken he showed
  • A resemblance of selfishness, and cruelty, with disregard to others needs.
  • Although I never lived or experienced being with King George, I think
  • He was a bad ruler with the evidence I was give.
