PRESENTATION OUTLINE
CASTLE ATTACK AND DEFENSE
The purpose of a castle is to defend and protect , to hold residence and fortify, keep out enemies, and to show the power of the noble within.
Invaders believed the castle were the base for counter-attacks and by taking over the castle, they can take over the surrounding land
Invaders and foreigners are the most common people to attack the castle with different ways. The most common ways to attacked the castle was to siege the castle and attack at the weakest point of the castle.
How would we attack a well-defended castle?
Preferred weapons we can use is the battering ram, the ballista, and the mangonel. Battering ram can used to literally batter down the walls of the castle. The ballista is something similar to a giant crossbow and worked by using tension when launching missiles. The mangonel launched the missiles from a bowl-shaped bucket at the end of the one giant arm of the Mangonel.
Other methods we can also try is to arm the men with scaling ladders and scale the walls of the castle when attacking. Another option is treachery, traitors within the castle could turn on the inhabitants. Our last method is starvation. An effective siege strategy if time and cost was not a problem.
The people who live in a castle are The Lord and his family, as well as people who refuge there.
Once this is accomplished, raise the drawbridge so the attackers must swim, where they will be easy targets for the archers.
After this, prepare the catapults so we can fling giant chunks of rocks at them.
