WHAT IS THE V&A ?

The V&A Museum is a museum with 100's of exhibitions every year with a range of objects with age spans of 2000 years apart !
The V&A has over 10,000 paintings.

It's been visited by millions!

WHEN WAS THE V&A FOUNDED ?

It was founded in 1852 and is in cooperation with the Natural History Museum.

More than 100 objects in the V&A are donated.

WAS THE V&A ALWAYS IN THE SAME BUILDING ?

No,the V&A was not always in the same place they moved to South Kensington in 1899 where Queen Victoria laid down a stone in honour of Prince Albert for all his hard work.

THE HISTORY OF THE BUILDING

They decided to build the Museum in 1874 .

The designer of the V&A museum was,Captain Francis Fowke.

1.Queen Victoria originally wanted to call the V&A 'The Albert museum'.
2.It is the first Museum in the world to have a public restaurant.
3.The V&A was meant to be a school at first.
