Mesoamerica:
Stretches from the Valley of Mexico to Costa Rica, in Central America, starting 9000 to 10000 years ago. Inhabited by hunter-gatherers who settled after discovering farming.

Teotihuacán:
Inhabited by the Olmec, near present day Vera Cruz, Mexico. Reached height around A.D. 400. First planned city, had rich farming resources and traded.

Cuzco:
Capital of biggest empire in ancient Americas, northwest of Lake Titicaca, in present day western South America. Built by the Inca and founded in A.D. 1100.

Cahokia:
Largest city in Mesoamerica. Built by the Mississippians in present day southern Illinois. Built mounds and were full-time farmers.
