AN INVASIVE SPECIES

The beach rose can be found in Rhode Island beaches and range across North America from Nova Scotia to Florida.

The flower can be eaten raw, used in jelly, or made into teaπŸ˜‹

The beach rose is a invasive species that was brought here in the early eighteenth century, people have been buying this plant for years for its beauty and sent, the beach rose or rosa rusaga will take over an area, so you usually won't find any other plant near it. It will also stop erosion of the sand.

The beach rose has a verity of colors, such as pink, light pink, dark pink, whight, and red. They have five to seven petals. They have fruit called rose hips witch many people make into jelly and tea, the stem is thick and can be green or brown depending on the season.

The leaves are green and looked old and folded or wrinkled, and have little hairs on the bottom of them . The rose hips are round and red with little spikes on the top. The stem has small spikes or thorns on them.

The beach rose are that it will take over an area, and push away the native species, they will control the erosion on a lake or beach, they also will block our paths and we won't be able to get through because of the thorns.

People are trying to get rid of the beach rose, but sense it has no natural enemies it just grows every were, people have tried to us herbicides, but the problem with that is that it is not good for the environment.
