Diets Only Make you Fat

Your Body Gets Used to Small Portions
Following a diet is too restrictive to succeed over a long period of time.

Who wants to weigh everything before eating? Who wants to eat exactly what a diet prescribes? A diet leaves no room for urges or cravings or appetites – it leaves you feeling dissatisfied and restrained.

And:
When you follow a diet your body gets used to low calorie intake and your metabolism changes. Following a diet signals to the body: There is not enough food.

Once you start to eat normal again, your body happily packs on the pounds to have a little bit extra for another rainy day (or a new diet).

Discover the Why

Most Overweight has its roots in the Mind
When we take life too heavy we tend to pile on the pounds. Do you load too much responsibility on your shoulders? Do you always want to do more than you possibly can? Or do you suffer from depression without realizing it?

If we really want to change our weight we have to search inside ourselves.

Why do you need to comfort yourself with food or drink?

If you have been struggling with your weight for years (never mind if you are really overweight or not) you should seek help from a psychotherapist or support in any possible way. The sympathetic ear of a friend cannot be underestimated.

Processed Food piles on the Pounds

The Body stores Chemical additives in Fat Cells
Chemicals in industrial food are one reason for piling on the pounds. Glucose and malt syrups go directly from your mouth into your blood and settle on your hips.

Preservatives cause havoc in the digestive system. Just think about the nature of preservatives: They keep food from being devoured by bacteria but our digestive system works with healthy gut bacteria.

Eating Out

Restaurant or Junk Food is full of unhealthy Fat
When you are eating out too often you tend to consume a lot of unhealthy fats. What our bodies cannot use for nourishment, gets deposited in fat cells.

Did you ever check which kind of oil a restaurant kitchen uses?

Anybody who wants to stay healthy and slim should not consume restaurant or fast food on a daily basis.

Check for Yeast Infections

Undetected Candidiasis can Cause Overweight
Another reason for overweight may be an undetected yeast infection of the digestive system.

Candida albicans tends to invade the digestive tract and absorb nutrition from the food we eat. The result can be frequent food cravings and binge eating.

Pills Don't work

Only the Food that does not enter your Body does not make you fat
Many experts claim there are foods or pills that make you slim.

I would like to affirm the following (of course it is difficult to gain weight eating only leafy vegetables or green beans, but who wants to live like that?):

Only food that does not enter your body does not make you fat.

If you want to lose weight, reduce the size of the portions you eat – but don’t deny yourself anything. Give in to your appetites and cravings, be it chocolate pie or French fries. Just don’t eat too much. Stop after a small piece of pie or a few French fries.

Permanent weight loss is always a slow process so be prepared to eat less for a long period of time.

Exercise!

our Bodies need to move to function well
When people ask me how I manage to stay slim I answer: I don’t eat too much and I go to the gym at least 3 times a week.

Nothing can substitute exercise.

Our bodies need to move to function well. Exercise raises the heart rate thus supplying more blood and nourishment to our cells. Our metabolism and hormone production improve with exercise.

It does not matter what kind of exercise you do: Move your body and get your heart pumping.

I am not a sportive person but I enjoy sweating in the gym because I feel so good afterward. Exercise is addictive: Once you are hooked on feeling great after a workout, you start to enjoy it.

The Magic of Love

Fall in Love and make Love with yourself
Falling in love is the easiest way to lose weight.

Unfortunately this way of losing weight cannot be programmed.

You can work on falling in love with yourself, though.

When was the last time you pampered yourself? When was the last time you told yourself how lovable you are?

Remember: Sex is one of the best exercises for keeping you slim and trim.

If you are alone there is no reason to despair. Sexual activity with your own self can be a joyful and slimming exercise, any time, any place.

Be your own best friend and lover – you know, what turns you on.

Avoid Sugar and other Empty Carbohydrates

Playing Yoyo with blood sugar levels makes you eat more
Sugar, white flour, rice and other cereals without fiber go directly from your stomach into your blood.

They raise blood sugar levels giving you a boost until the sugar is used and your energy drops. Then you need more sugar to give you another boost.

A diet rich in sugar and empty carbohydrates makes you eat without feeling full and satisfied.

eat Fibre, Drink Water

Keeping Regular keeps Slim
Fibre and water keep your digestion going.

When you eat enough fiber and drink water at the same time the fiber absorbs the water and keeps your bowels moving.

Healthy bowel movements make you feel well. If your food remains too much time in your body waste accumulates.

Avoid Hunger Pangs

When you are starving you Eat Bigger Portions
Keep on eating, don’t wait until you are starving.

When your stomach is grumbling you tend to eat too much too quickly.

Our brain needs around 20 minutes to register that we have filled our stomachs.

When you want to lose weight, always keep a healthy snack like a piece of fruit or vegetable handy.

Try to eat slowly and chew carefully.

Satisfy Cravings

Your Body tells you what it needs
When something is making your mouth water, try to fulfill this desire.

Your body is telling you what it needs through craving.

Just don't eat too much.

The Obvious

Don't Drink too much and Sleep Enough
Don’t drink too much alcohol.

Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits.

Take care that you sleep enough. 20 minutes of sunlight, regular relaxation and peaceful music induce sleep.

If you cannot sleep, feel fatigued or unhappy you might suffer from depression and/or hormone imbalance.

Go to your doctor and talk about it.

Never Give up!

Permanent weight loss is a slow process
I have struggled with my weight for decades. My breakthrough came with a psychotherapy. Now I know how to enjoy food and how to stay slim.
